1…. If I didn't, I'd probably go crazy. 2…. I have a lot to say, but people usually don't listen. Maybe they'll read instead. 3…. Sometimes I just want to write something that takes my own breath away. 4…. What better way to vent about everything under the sun without annoying everyone within throwing distance. 5…. I figure selling my novel is the only way I'll make myself rich. I wish. 6…. How else will my (future) children and their children learn to appreciate how strange and dramatic my life is? 7…. There are so many stories bouncing around in my head; I need to get rid of them somehow. 8…. I have a rich imagination that everyone else needs to appreciate. 9…. It pays the bills. 10…. I'm good at it. What can I say? 11…. I write because I am. 12…. Words are my passion. 13…. I really think I could live if I couldn't write. There'd be no point to my existence without it. |

I agree about the going insane. I kinda write for the same reason.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, that's the same with me ! I am only angry that blogging only exists since a few years and not when I started to write at 18 !! What a frustration, now I have to catch up, lol !
ReplyDeleteI so get #7... and how it links to #1!
ReplyDeleteHear hear! (except that my for-pay writing is markcom, not fiction, so thus not an outlet)
ReplyDeleteHappy TT.
13 excellent reasons...and very much the same as mine.
ReplyDeleteI write, therefore, I am. Writing is one of the best outlets for nearly everything!
ReplyDeleteGreat list.
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else writing gets the old ghosts out of your head and down on paper where they can become strangers and no longer bother you.
I can identify with all of those! Except, alas, the getting rich part... maybe someday!
ReplyDeleteA fellow spinner and knitter! Yeah! Thanks for the comment. I look forward to reading more of your writing.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to get it out of your head and on paper isn't it? I used to write as a child. I've come back to it recently and it is a comfort.
ReplyDeleteYou'll find my Thursday Thirteen at www.theskein.com/blog

Totally with ya on the "not annoying people" thing. Though sometimes I wonder if my ranting might annoy my blog readers...but then again they can "switch the channel" if they're annoyed, I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy TT
very interesting TT list!!! i can totally relate your 13 reasons why you write!!! i wish i were like you!! i love to write but i don't even have the time for it!
ReplyDeleteI love the feedback on my writing too. However, it seems people don't want to think about a comment too hard and if you write something that may require thought they just pass on by. Whatever! They are missing out! I love your list!
ReplyDeleteI have never visited before but I think it is awesome that you are a writer and would love to find about more about your books! =)
ReplyDeleteHaha I normally write because of #4.
I don't actually have a book published yet, but you can see my work in progress at http://survivingeden.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThere's also a link on my sidebar. I'd love comments on it.
